2. User Accounts

2.1 Individual Accounts

A once-off €2.50 non-refundable establishment fee applies when individual fliers register. Registration provides access to personal loft, bird, ring, and race records, public club and federation data, and the ability to join clubs on the platform.

2.2 Group Accounts

Groups must register annually. Fees are based on membership size as published on the PigeonLink website. Fees apply per calendar year and remain fixed during the registration period. Renewal notices are issued in December.

Where club Secretaries reigster a club account, each flier in that club is provided with a login and are not required to pay the €2.50 establishment fee

A once-off €12.50 non-refundable establishment fee applies when any group registers for the first time. This covers administrative setup and verification and is separate from annual subscription fees.

2.4 Refunds

PigeonLink operates a fair use refund policy for group subscriptions

A full refund minus a €12.50 administration charge is available if a cancellation request is made within 30 days of subscription and no race management activity has taken place on the account (i.e. no races created, basketed, or results recorded).

In any event no refund is available after 30 days from the subscription date,

If a group subscribes and the platform is not yet ready to support their requirements, PigeonLink will work with the group to resolve the issue before any refund decision is made.

To request a refund, contact support@pigeonlink.com with your group name and subscription date. All refund requests are reviewed within 5 working days.

2.5 Age Requirement

You must be 16 or over to register an account. PigeonLink does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

4. Accuracy of Data

PigeonLink provides tools to support data accuracy including secretary verification of loft coordinates and audit trails for all race records. However, users and club officers are responsible for the accuracy of data they submit. PigeonLink does not independently verify member information, bird records, or timing data entered by clubs.

5. Race Data and Results

Once a race result has been confirmed by an authorised club officer it is locked in the system and cannot be altered without creating a new auditable record. Corrections to confirmed results require a formal request to PigeonLink support and must be supported by documentary evidence such as the original timing sheet.

The full process for raising a concern about results data is set out in the Results Integrity and Appeals Policy.

6. Club and Federation Rules

PigeonLink is a data management platform and not a sporting authority. Eligibility rules, pool and prize distribution, disciplinary matters, and all other sporting decisions are the responsibility of your club or governing body. PigeonLink does not adjudicate sporting disputes. For those matters contact your club secretary or consult your federation's rules.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Your Content

Registered users retain ownership of all data and content they upload. By uploading content you grant PigeonLink a limited licence to store, process, display, and transmit that content solely for the purpose of operating the PigeonLink service. This licence ends upon deletion of your content or account.

7.2 Platform Intellectual Property

PigeonLink result processing is built on ResultAssist, a race result processing engine owned by DomainLeasehold.com and licenced to PigeonLink. ResultAssist provides the core race result calculation, velocity computation, and standings functionality. The PigeonLink club management platform, member tools, and associated software are developed and operated independently under that licence. All platform software, design, and documentation are protected by intellectual property law and may not be copied, modified, or redistributed without permission.

7.3 Retention of Historical Race Records

Race results, timing records, and velocity calculations recorded on the platform represent historical facts involving individual members and are treated differently from other club content. If a club or federation exits the platform, their historical race records are retained by PigeonLink in a read-only archived state.

This archived data remains accessible for the purpose of verifying racing history, resolving disputes, and supporting member claims of past achievements.

Archived records at PigeonLink are not used by third parties for any commercial purpose and are not accessible to other active clubs except for the specific purpose of verification on request.

Clubs and federations may request a full export of their race data in machine-readable format at any time, including on exit from the platform.

8. Privacy and Data Protection

Your personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. The lawful basis for processing personal data in connection with your account is the performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Security logging and platform improvement activities are carried out on the basis of legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

By registering you acknowledge that your name, loft number, and race results may be visible to other members of your club and to authorised officers. Race results may be published publicly by your club or federation in accordance with their own rules.

9. Service Availability

PigeonLink aims to provide a reliable service but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible. PigeonLink is not liable for loss or disruption arising from service outages, provided reasonable steps have been taken to maintain the service.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law, PigeonLink is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform, including losses arising from errors in user-submitted data or reliance on information published on the platform. PigeonLink's total liability for any claim arising from use of the service shall not exceed the amount paid by you or your group for use of the service in the preceding 12 months.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraudulent misrepresentation.

11. Termination

11.1 Termination by PigeonLink

PigeonLink may suspend or terminate your access for serious or repeated breach of these terms, illegal activity, attempts to compromise platform security, or lapse of a group subscription. Except in cases of severe misconduct, PigeonLink will provide written notice and allow 7 days to remedy the issue before terminating access.

11.2 Termination by You

You may delete your account at any time via your profile settings. Termination does not affect historical race records held on behalf of your club or federation as those records remain as part of the club's data held on the platform.

11.3 Refunds on Termination

If a group account is terminated by PigeonLink for reasons not involving misconduct, unused subscription time will be refunded in accordance with the refund policy.

12. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute, please contact us at support@pigeon-link.com in the first instance. We will make every effort to resolve concerns informally. Where a dispute cannot be resolved informally, mediation is available prior to legal action. These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland and any unresolved disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

13. Changes to These Terms

PigeonLink may update these terms periodically. Significant changes will be communicated at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
